Rental Qualifications

• All drivers must meet the renting location’s minimum age requirements, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. 

Age Requirement

• Minimum rental age 25.

Credit Cards

• Renter must present an acceptable credit card, with available credit, in their own name, at the time of rental.
• Signature on back must match name imprinted on card.
• Credit Cards honored:
• American Express
• Carte Blanche
• Diner's Club
• Discover Card
• MasterCard
• Visa
• Certain "High End" vehicles will require an additional deposit of available credit at time of rental.
• No debit cards accepted at time of rental. 

Debit Cards

• Debit and check cards may only be used as a form of payment at the end of the rental (once the vehicle has been returned). RedHotCars will not accept debit cards at the start of a rental. A major credit card is required.

Driver's License

• Valid driver’s license from North American state or providence required. If renter is from outside North American state or providence, valid drivers license must be presented at rental.  A valid drivers license must be accompanied by an international drivers permit if drivers license is not issued by a North American state or providence
• If renter is from outside North American state or providence, a valid passport is required and must be "in hand" at time of rental.
• No learner permits accepted.
• Valid photo ID required.
• No photocopies accepted.
• Temporary licenses accepted only if for change of residence or replacement of lost or stolen license.
• If no photo, description should match renter.

Additional Authorized Drivers

• All additional drivers must meet ALL rental qualifications in regard to age, credit card, and driving record as well as all other standard rental qualifications.
• Must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
• Must present a valid driver’s license.
• Must sign the rental agreement.
• Must present an acceptable credit card in his/her own name.
• All additional authorized driver including spouse's and family members  subject to a daily charge.

Child Restraint Seats

• Various states have child seat laws appropriate to age and size of child. These laws will be strictly adhered to.
• Child seats are available at all locations for an additional charge. Please check applicable state laws for requirements. 
• Reserve at time of reservation.

Driving Record

• RedHotCars requires that all drivers have a clean driving record.
• RedHotCars may verify your driving record with the department of motor vehicles.
• Rental privileges are denied if a drivers license is suspended or his/her record includes one of the following in the past three years:
• Reckless or careless driving resulting in bodily injury or property
  damage.
• Driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated.
• Leaving the scene of an accident of failure to report an accident.
• Operating a motor vehicle without insurance
• Possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
• Rental privileges are denied if a drivers license is suspended or his/her record includes one of the following in the past two years:
• Three of more moving violations.
• Two or more accidents.

Minimum Rental

• Any rental of less than 24 hours will be charged a full day's rate.
• Certain certificates/coupons and promotional rates require a specific minimum to qualify. See terms and conditions for the promotion or coupon in question.
